Should I Stay or Should I Pro? When To Switch to An Instagram Business Account

What are the pros and cons of switching from a personal Instagram account to a Business account? Should all businesses have a business account? The answer is "it depends".

What's the difference between a business account and a personal account?

To make a long story short, a personal account does not provide you with insights and analytics.

If you switch, you will likely trade some of your organic reach & engagement for analytics tools...which is more important to you as a business owner? There's not really a wrong answer - but there IS a "right" answer for YOU, if that makes sense.

Do you want to strategically grow your IG by understanding who your followers are, when they're active, and what they respond to best? Maybe consider switching to business.

Do you just want to use it as a platform for visibility & engagement? You're probably fine keeping it personal but making it LOOK like a business account (optimizing your profile with your business name, an eye-catching description, and your website).

The good news is that - for now at least - if you switch to business and decide you don't like it, you can just switch back!
